Camí de Farinós
2014
Camí de Farinós extends the investigation begun in Territorios de lo olvidado into patina as a pictorial process.
The introduction of copper alongside brass expands the series’ chromatic and material vocabulary. Chemical reactions, resists and abrasion organise fields of colour, lines and variations in sheen without recourse to pigment: the image emerges from the transformation of the surface itself.
In contrast to the fragmentary and evocative nature of Territorios de lo olvidado, these pieces adopt a more concentrated structure. Each plate records different times, densities and accidents, making visible the tension between a precise procedure and the autonomy of matter.
