Caja de pátinas brings together an investigation into the generation of reactive patinas on brass plates. The works dispense with pigment: colour arises from chemical transformations induced directly on the metal surface through the application of different compounds, resists and reaction times.
Each piece functions as a material study in which the properties of brass and the variables of the process determine differences in colour, density, texture, depth and luminosity. The series thus forms an archive of possible reactions and places the transformation of matter at the centre of the work.
